Our Programs

Help. Heart. Home.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” -Matthew 11:28 NIV

When a single woman or a mom with kids arrives at Laura’s Home, we take intentional time to let them know they’re safe, and introduce them to what it means to participate in a personalized program at Laura’s Home.  Children are supported through Pathways, which provides on-site after-school programming with academic, cultural, and peer-to-peer experiences that contribute to their growth and development.

Finding help

When a woman in crisis comes to our doors, she often has endured trauma along with her children and simply having a safe place to rest their heads is a blessing. Each resident is given clothing, meals, hygiene items, even new toys for the children. Everything they need to feel comfortable and secure is provided at no cost. From the moment they enter Laura’s Home, they are shown the compassion of Christ and treated with dignity and care.

Healing hearts

Once we meet a woman and child’s most urgent needs with food, clothing, and a safe place to stay, we can then connect with them at a deeper level. The longer-term Heart stage is where Laura’s Home delivers its most differentiating and impactful work. During this time, we offer Christ-centered, holistic programs to help our residents address their mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. This may include overcoming trauma, learning from the past, and planning for future success.

Our Pathways program aims to positively impact the lives of the children and youth who come through the doors of Laura’s Home by serving Kindergarteners through 12th grade students. Using trauma-informed care, our program offers resources and programs to support their educational, emotional and spiritual well-being in addition to providing loving staff to surround them in a positive, Christ-centered manner.

Empowering home

Many single women and mothers come to us with no support system and nowhere safe to turn. We strive to end the cycle of poverty by helping each woman find safe, affordable housing. Upon successfully completing their individual programs and graduating, which takes an average of 7 months, each graduate now has stable income and is given resources to find a safe place for her and her children, breaking free from poverty.
