NEW HORIZONS TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM

A path to
homeownership.

Help end the cycle of poverty by equipping single mothers to become homeowners.

Overview

Cleveland's first transitional housing for women & children

Single mothers who have completed the Laura’s Home program can move into Rothstein Village Transitional Housing for Families. With sixteen, three bedroom, 1,000 square foot units, mothers are given the gift of time as they remain on campus for 18-24 months to pursue personal, vocational, and educational growth.

HOW IT WORKS

Welcome to Rothstein Village

“The City Mission is responding to the critical need for single mothers to have access to safe, affordable housing. Our New Horizons program helps break the cycle of poverty and homelessness, one family at a time.”
– Linda Uveges, CEO

Support & stability

While in our New Horizons program, children can remain at the same schools, giving them much-needed stability, and also continue to receive supportive services to ensure they continue to thrive.

Financial planning

A dedicated case manager assists mothers with reaching financial goals to prepare them for the responsibilities of home care and ownership. Case management occurs every other week and includes financial skills training, budget creation, credit report repair, debt reduction plans, savings plans, and referrals to community partners.

Independent housing

The New Horizons case manager also assesses the progress and growth of children in addition to their mothers, ensuring a smooth transition from Laura’s Home to Transitional Housing, and eventually to stable, independent housing through partnering organizations like Habitat for Humanity.
